Safety and Health is one of Century 3, Inc. (C3) core values and we will not subordinate it to schedule, cost or profit. The safety and health of our employees and those we work with are crucially important. To C3, safety and health means working toward an incident-free workplace, finding business-driven value in safety and health, integrating safety and health into our day-to-day operations, and using our safety and health programs to competitive advantage. At C3, we believe a good safety/training program can reduce injury, illnesses and improve morale.
Part of the process of establishing a positive safety and health program is to develop a safety consciousness as an integral part of the company's culture. C3's top-down commitment to the safety and health of its employees, and its relentless pursuit of an incident-free workplace is reflected in its incident rates. These rates are dramatically lower than industry averages. The credit for this goes to all of our employees for their shared commitment to a safer work environment. We have achieved these remarkable rates through hard work and attention to all aspects of our safety and health program.
C3 has a comprehensive safety and health training program that each of our employees must attend. This program includes both company and site specific safety requirements. In addition, employees are required to participate in an annual safety training.
At C3, we are continuously striving to improve in all areas of safety and health. Even though our incident and recordable rates are far below industry averages, we always aim for even lower rates as we push forward the development and implementation of our safety and health program. We believe that it is still possible to better our company in safety and health and we are focused on achieving this goal on a daily basis.
